Categories: events

Cleanup 3.12.21On March 13, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to noon, Washington County and its partners will host a volunteer cleanup event within the Bear Claw Poppy area. Participants are encouraged to meet at the Bear Claw Poppy trailhead located at the end of Navajo Drive (west of Bloomington). Upon arrival, event organizers will direct volunteers to various locations within the area that are in need of the most attention.

The Washington County “Give Your Land a Hand” committee will provide most of the tools and materials necessary for this event. Participants are asked to bring water and to wear protective clothing such as boots, hats, long sleeve shirts and long pants. Due to COVID-19, extra precautions will be taken and volunteers are also asked to bring a mask and hand sanitizer. Additionally, we are requesting that all volunteers consider bringing their own work gloves and/or tools to lessen the chance of spread through shared objects.

We discourage participation if you (or someone you have been in close contact) are feeling any of the symptoms of COVID-19, have recently traveled to/from an area of high risk, or are over 60 and/or with compromised immune systems. Please note that if you chose to participate in this event, that you are doing so at your own risk.

Please RSVP by email or on our Facebook event page.

Partner support for this event includes: Washington County, Red Cliffs Desert Reserve, Republic Services, BLM St. George Field Office, and DSU Alternative Breaks.
